Catch-up Café: Term time after-school for children of all ages to play together, with crafts and activities, while parents enjoy a catch up. Free food and drinks from Shrewsbury Food Hub in a relaxed atmosphere. Wednesdays 3.30-5.00 at St Giles Community Hall.

Celebration of Harvest: Sunday 11 October. Our main act of Worship will be taking place at 4.00 to celebrate our Harvest Festival. We will be joined by St Giles Community Choir and gather together in an act of Celebration and thanksgiving. This service will re-place our regular 9.30 service and everyone is welcome. The Longest Yarn trip - postponed. We are proposing to go instead on Monday 12 October to see it in St Giles’ church, Wrexham. A sign-up sheet is on the table at the back of church. Please indicate if you can offer or need a lift.

Mothers' Union are collecting items suitable for young people aged 16 - 25 as Christmas stocking gifts, also chocolates, decorations and toiletries. There will be a box at the back of church where donations can be left. At our 5 November meeting 2.00 we will sort and pack them for the 16+ care leavers: Further info: Debbie 07814 628887.
St Giles’ Christmas Market will be held at the Church Hall, Sutton Way, on Saturday Nov 28, from 10 to 1.00. Stalls will be selling cakes, produce, crafts, plants, etc., a raffle and a bottle stall, Donations of raffle prizes, items for all stalls will be gratefully received. To volunteer, or for more information, speak to Penny Hughes or Julie Bound.
Revd Zoe is now Rector of the Benefices of Edgmond with Kynnersley and Preston Wealdmoors in plurality with Tibberton with Bolas Magna & Waters Upton. Zoe writes: Thanks for a fantastic farewell, for the lovely cards and gifts, and for the financial gift, which will be well used on a wonderful garden set, and towards my own chasuble. Whenever I wear it I will think of you all. Thank you for making my time at St. Giles' and St. Eata's so enjoyable. I will miss you all.

St Giles' Community Choir rehearses each Sunday 3.30-4.30 in the Fellowship Room, with refreshments. All welcome. It's free, no auditions, nor need to read music. Just drop by!

Christian Aid St Giles' parish residents have donated over £10000 over recent years, to tackle the root causes of poverty and enable communities to thrive. Thanks all who helped

A Tile In Time: The Church roof is in a very poor state, and is over 100 years old.
Re-roofing will cost over £400,000. Although over half of this has now been raised we still need to raise the rest - and are seeking sponsors at £10 for each new tile, which can be marked with a message of up to 12 words. Please see Documents for details, and see the Church Wardens.
Cake Stall to raise funds for the roof: in the Fellowship Room after morning service every 4th Sunday. If you can make cakes to support this venture, please bring them on the day. Thank you

The Food Share: at St Giles Church Hall on Sundays 1030-1130. All are welcome to purchase surplus food (see Documents). Shropshire Council may be able to help families: look here or call them on 0345 6789078; also see here for help for Shropshire people living on a low budget.
Our Organist Dr Derry Bertenshaw composed and played 'Nocturne-for the suffering of Ukraine' as the finale of a concert that raised over £1000 for the DEC Ukraine fund. Derry's video https://youtu.be/dzNxlX2tXnk is a wonderful, but intensely sad, piece of music. Please listen!
