Congratulations to our Organist and Choirmaster Dr Derry Bertenshaw for winning St Paul's Cathedral Composing Competition.
This prestigious competition attracted entries from around the world. Derry's anthem Wedding of Water and Wine was one of the final four entries to be performed in the Cathedral by St Paul's Consort before an invited audience.
It received its world premiere sung by the full choir at St Paul's Epiphanytide Procession Service on 12th January 2020.

Also, listen to Derry's composition 'Hymn Toccata on Aberystwyth' (Jesu, lover of my soul) which he plays on St Giles' Historic Gray & Davison organ:  https://youtu.be/cUgbu0Su_U0

Andy Clough took part in the Ride and Stride for Historic Churches Trust and St. Giles’ church in September, cycling 60 miles and visiting 35 of our historic churches.
He raised just over £500, half of which has come back to St. Giles church.
Well done Andy and very many thanks!!

Many thanks to all who helped and donated to Christian Aid.
Residents in St Giles' parish have so far donated over £10000 over the past few years,
to tackle the root causes of poverty and enable communities to thrive.
